Scouts Take on the Challenge

1. Scouts Take on the Challenge 2

The Scout Association of Guyana successfully participated in the global initiative Clean Up the World 2022, which took place on September 17th. This year's theme was "Let's Do It World", and it aimed to inspire and empower communities to clean up, fix up, and conserve their environment.

Scouts and scout leaders came together to participate in various activities, including a clean-up campaign, waste reduction, and raising awareness through social media. The clean-up campaign focused on Woolford Avenue and other surrounding avenues, where volunteers cleaned up the environment and whitewashed the trees and beautified the environment.

Participants also encouraged their friends and family to reduce waste by using reusable bags, bottles, and containers. They organized a recycling program in their school or community center, and they used social media to raise awareness about Clean Up the World and the importance of environmental conservation. They shared photos and videos of their clean-up events and encouraged others to get involved.

The Scout Association of Guyana is proud to have been a part of this global initiative, and they recognize the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability. Participating in Clean Up the World is a great way to make a positive impact on the environment. By taking part in this initiative, Scouts learned about the importance of preserving our environment and the role they can play in protecting it. It's also a chance to develop teamwork skills, leadership skills, and a sense of community spirit.
