Yonnick David stands as a seasoned entrepreneur whose journey with the Scout movement commenced at the young age of seven. Despite migrating during his teenage years, Yonnick's dedication to scouting remained unwavering. Upon returning to Guyana many years later, he immediately reconnected with his roots, rejoining the St. Margaret's Scout Group. Currently, he selflessly volunteers as both the Explorer Scout Leader and the Group Scout Leader for the same group. Yonnick attributes his life navigation skills to the invaluable lessons learned through scouting, emphasizing that he applies these principles in his daily life. His commitment to the Scout movement goes beyond volunteerism; it is a testament to the profound impact scouting has had on shaping his character and worldview. As an individual who has experienced the transformative power of scouting firsthand, Yonnick David aspires to be a shining example of the myriad benefits the movement offers. He ardently encourages parents to enroll their children, envisioning scouting as a positive and life-changing experience. In both his entrepreneurial pursuits and volunteer roles within the Scout Association, Yonnick David exemplifies the ethos of scouting and serves as an inspiring advocate for its enduring impact on personal development and character building.

Andrew Ramcharitar

Andrew Ramcharitar

Andrew Ramcharitar was born and raised in Guyana, Ramcharitar joined the Scout Association at the age of 11 and quickly developed a passion for the organization. He served as a leader in 2002 and has been an active member ever since. Ramcharitar attributes much of his personal and professional growth to his involvement in the Scout Association. As a child, he found the experience to be enriching and fulfilling. As a leader, he has seen firsthand how scouting can positively impact the lives of young people. Ramcharitar is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusively within the Scout Association. He believes that everyone, regardless of their ethnicity or personal views, should have access to the benefits of scouting. His goal as Chief Commissioner is to create better citizens and leaders for Guyana through scouting. Ramcharitar is deeply committed to the growth and development of the Scout Association in Guyana. He now dreams of seeing a scout group in every school in Guyana, as he believes that scouting can play an important role in shaping the country's future leaders. In addition to his work with the Scout Association, Ramcharitar is a respected member of the community. He is known for his dedication, hard work, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Zaida Joaquin A.A.

Zaida Joaquin A.A.

Ms. Joaquin has been an active member of Scout Association of Guyana (SAG) since 1994 and has given voluntary service since that time. She joined the St Margaret's Scout Group as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader and eventually became Group Scout Leaders a position she still holds. She also served as treasurer for SAG for three (3) years during the period 1996- 1999. Ms. Joaquin over the years has held several administrative positions in SAG. These include International Commissioner, National Training Commissioner, Deputy Chief Commissioner Administration, District Commissioner, Chief Commissioner of SAG a position she has held from 2006 - 2016. She has earned the distinction as being the first female Chief Commissioner of SAG in its 113 years of scouting. When her tenure as Chief Commissioner was up she was appointed Deputy Chief Commissioner responsible for Training and Programme. She currently holds the position of Deputy Chief Commissioner (Training) to the Association. In 2009 the Caribbean Jamboree was held as part of the Association centenary celebration. Due to Ms. Joaquin leadership qualities and her scouting experience, SAG was able to organized one of the most successful Caribbean Jamborees. It was the first Caribbean Jamboree to have a Global Development village and a Youth forum. Both were well received by those who were in attendance. In 2016 the 14th Caribbean Cuboree was held in Guyana and Ms. Joaquin held the position of Camp Chief. Ms. Joaquin, has attended five World Scout Conferences, a World Scout Jamboree, several Caribbean Scout Jamborees and Cuborees where she served a Deputy and Contingent Leader respectively. Additionally, she attended all Caribbean Chief Commissioners Conferences since 2002. She was appointed the Vice President for the Caribbean Executive Committee in 2008. At present she is President of the Caribbean Executive Committee a position she held since 2012. She is currently the only wood badge (Four beads) trained Scout leader. She also served, on several occasions, as a member of the Trinidad & Tobago Training team for their Advanced Practical Wood Badge Course. In September 2013 to November 2016 Ms. Joaquin served as a committee member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), Interamerican Scout Region. She holds the distinction of being the first Guyanese Scout Leader to be elected at this level. She was also a member of the WOSM Safe from Harm Team representing the Interamerican Region. She is also a member of World scouting training consultant pool.

Bonicka Gordon

Bonicka Gordon

Bonicka Gordon is a dedicated member of the scouting community who has been involved in scouting since 2011. Starting as a Friend of Scouting, she eventually became an assistant Cub Scout leader with St. Gabriel's Cub Scout group before moving on to become an AESL for three years. Currently, she serves as the Cub Scout leader for the Queens College Cub Scout group. Bonicka has also been actively involved in leadership positions within the scouting community, having served as the Youth Commissioner and coordinating the Venture Council, ADC Cubs, ADC Explorers, and currently as the DC (District Commissioner). With her wealth of experience and skills, Bonicka is a valuable member of the scouting community. In addition to her scouting activities, Bonicka has a variety of hobbies that keep her busy. She enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, and learning new languages, having a conversational level of Mandarin and Portuguese. Bonicka is also passionate about volunteering and giving back to her community. Professionally, Bonicka is a trained QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) professional and currently serves as a QHSE coordinator supporting the Oil and Gas industry. She is also completing a degree in Supply Chain Management and is trained as an internal auditor for ISO 9001:2015, with experience in ISO 45001 and Safety Development Systems.

Hosni Campbell

Hosni Campbell

Hosni Campbell is a dedicated member of the Scout Movement, with over 25 years of experience. He currently serves as the Group Scout Leader for the Guyana Police Force Headquarters Scout Group, a position that requires strong leadership skills and a passion for youth development. As a police officer, Hosni brings a unique perspective to his role in Scouting. He understands the importance of instilling strong values and character in young people, and is committed to helping them become responsible, ethical citizens. Through his work with the Scout Group, he is able to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn and grow. Hosni's journey in Scouting began in his childhood, and he has continued to be an active member throughout his adulthood. His experience has been filled with opportunities for learning and growth. He is dedicated to helping young people develop important life skills. Hosni's dedication to Scouting extends beyond his role as Group Scout Leader. He is actively involved in his local community, and encourages young people to make a positive difference through their own actions. He believes in leading by example, and strives to set a good example for others to follow. Overall, Hosni Campbell is a passionate and dedicated member of the Scout Movement, with a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. Through his work as a police officer and a Group Scout Leader, he is able to make a positive impact in the lives of young people, helping them to become responsible and ethical citizens who are committed to making the world a better place.

La Shanna Thompson

La Shanna Thompson

La Shanna Thompson is an experienced scout leader and currently serves as the Assistant district Commissioner (For Explorers) of the Scout Association of Guyana. She has been involved in scouting since 1999 and has worked her way up through the ranks to become a leader at the age of 19. La Shanna has been a leader for over 12 years and is currently a cub leader in the Queens College scout group. In addition to scouting, La Shanna enjoys watching movies and has an adventurous side, which she channels through scouting. She has a diploma in public management and is on her final leg of completing a degree in supply chain management at the University of Guyana. She works as an underwriter supervisor at an insurance company.

Denise Haley

Denise Haley

Denise Haley, a Banker by profession and a Cub leader with the St. Margaret's scout group known as Chill, introduces herself. With over 17 years of experience in scouting, she has had the opportunity to connect with numerous individuals within the scouting community on a national and international level. Denise has also dedicated her time to teaching young children about the wonders found within the pages of the Jungle Book. Among her diverse range of interests, she enjoys reading, dancing, and engaging in volunteer work. One of her cherished quotations comes from Maya Angelou, who eloquently expressed that 'When cheerful giving and grateful acceptance are embraced, blessings are bestowed upon everyone.'

Christine Richardson

Christine Richardson

Christine Richardson is currently a law student at the university of Guyana. She believes strongly that as a man thinketh so is he. As such, one of her mantras is to think positively so that you can be a positive impact and aid to those you come in contact with. Ms. Richardson has been scouting for 8 years now. Her journey as a scout started at the Queen's College scout group where she progressed from an explorer to a scout leader. She is also currently one of the Youth Commissioners of the Scout Association of Guyana. Christine is passionate about advocacy and human rights. Often if she is not studying or scouting she enjoys crafting speeches and writing poetry and spoken word pieces. This skill and hobby is also often expressed at her Toastmaster meetings where she continues to refine her gifts in articulating ideas and opinions on prevalent matters of concern. She also enjoys mooting and being immersed in the presence of nature.

As the Youth Commissioner of the Scout Association of Guyana, Ismael Tang's role involves creating opportunities for youth to learn important life skills, build strong character, and make a positive impact in their communities. Ismael is passionate about this work, and he understands the critical role that Scouting can play in shaping the lives of young people. One of the core principles of Scouting is the importance of leadership, and Ismael takes this principle to heart. He believes that young people have a great deal to offer their communities, and he encourages them to take on leadership roles and make a positive difference. By leading by example, Ismael shows young people what it means to be a responsible, compassionate, and effective leader. Ismael recognizes that personal growth and development are key components of a successful life, and he believes that exposure to new experiences and perspectives is essential for achieving these goals. Through Scouting, he provides young people with opportunities to explore the world around them, learn new skills, and meet people from diverse backgrounds. These experiences help young people build self-confidence, develop a sense of empathy, and expand their understanding of the world. Overall, Ismael Tang's work as Youth Commissioner of the Scout Association of Guyana demonstrates his commitment to the development of young people. He is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and make a positive impact in their communities, and his leadership and example are an inspiration to all those who work with him.

Daniel Haley

Daniel Haley

Daniel Haley holds the position of Assistant Youth Commissioner within the Scout Association of Guyana. With a rich background in scouting, Haley's journey began as a cub scout, over the years, he demonstrated commitment and progressed through the ranks, eventually assuming the role of a respected Scout Leader. One of the highlights of Daniel Haley's scouting career includes his participation in the Inter-American Leadership Training held in the Dominican Republic in 2023. During this transformative experience, he successfully completed ILT 10, showcasing his aptitude for learning and leadership development on an international platform. This training not only enhanced his skills but also exemplified his commitment to continuous improvement. Daniel's multifaceted journey in scouting has not only shaped his character but also positioned him as a valuable asset within the Scout Association of Guyana. As the Assistant Youth Commissioner, he brings a wealth of experience, a strong sense of responsibility, and a profound understanding of the scouting ethos, contributing significantly to the organization's mission and objectives.
